City of Cape Town Designs Innovative Pedestrian Information Signs

The City of Cape Town recently undertook a project to conceptualise, design and produce an accessible pedestrian information sign that would be implemented at signalised pedestrian crossings in the city. The objective was to increase pedestrian and road-user awareness and understanding of the way in which the pedestrian push button should be used.

Kommetjie Road Upgrade Open Day

HHO Africa, on behalf of Transport for Cape Town, hosted a successful Open Day for the upcoming Kommetjie Road Upgrade project on 21 September 2016. The event was intended to facilitate communication and engagement with the public, local organisations and stakeholders. It was attended by some 300 people, with further public information sessions being planned. Construction is due to commence in October 2016.

2016 SAICE Western Cape Bridge Building Competition

Once again HHO Africa was honoured to assist with sponsoring the annual SAICE Western Cape Bridge Building competition. Andrew Rowan from the Cape Town Office Structures Department was asked to be a judge for the day, and to help the MC with the breaking of the bridges at the close of the competition.
