Borcherds Quarry Road Reconstruction Western Cape South Africa:

The project comprised the reconstruction of the existing single carriageway Borcherds Quarry Road to a dual carriageway expressway standard between the N2 and Modderdam Road and the upgrading of the existing grade separated interchange with the main Cape Town International Airport access road, to dual carriageway standard.

Some of the more notable features of the project were :

	Design of a stormwater management system with attenuation ponds
	Accommodation of high traffic volumes throughout the construction period
	New interchange bridges over the airport access road while maintaining free movement of airport traffic at all times
	Reclamation of part of a large sewerage maturation pond to accommodate interchange loops
