Industrial and Commercial Structures:

HHO Africa Structures Division has been involved in a variety of industrial structures which have offered a number of challenges. Issues such as clear space and floor design for durable use by materials handling equipment have been dealt with.

St Albans Prison Workshops
This project undertaken for the Department of Public Works involved all the structural elements for a new workshop complex covering 8400 m2 with roof clear spans of 50m to gain maximum flexibility of use of floor space.

African Products Factory
The project involved the design of a railway weighbridge as well as the design of a container dock for materials handling. Several alterations and strengthening of various parts of the building were also carried out.

N'Dabeni Warehouse
HHO Africa designed and supervised construction of this warehouse for the service products division of the Department of Public Works. Large 25 m roof truss spans were required as no internal columns could be used for space reasons. The structure and particularly the roof design is able to cope with the exceptional wind speeds which occur in the area.
