hho’s New CEO
We are very happy to announce that Donovan Hugo will replace Andre Frieslaar as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of hho with effect from 1 March 2018. Don is a senior director of hho and has served as Chief Operating Officer since 2013. He is a highly skilled and experienced project manager, contracts engineer and design specialist.
Andre has decided to step down as CEO for personal and professional reasons. This has resulted in a reallocation of roles on the hho executive committee, with Andre now taking up the role of Chief Business Development Officer, while Fred de Villiers takes up the role of Chief Operating Officer.
This is only the second time in hho’s 90 year history that a former senior partner’s son takes the reins. Donovan’s father, Vic Hugo, was senior partner from 1976 till 1984. The only other time this happened was when our founder, JC Hawkins, was succeeded by his son Bob Hawkins, in 1956.
We wish to thank Andre for his leadership over the past 3 years as CEO, during which hho rebranded and transformed into a majority black owned company.
We are confident that Don and his team will continue the momentum that has been established, and that we will continue to offer our clients professional and high quality engineering products and services – everything considered!
